My Batakari Night Festival Has made the Wearing of Smock Common Among the Youth.

King Ayinsoba, the popular two string guitarist known popularly for his “Kai Kai” mannerism has said that the Batakari Night Festival he host at the Kokrobite Hotel in Accra has made the wearing of smock common among the youth in Ghana.

Speaking to DJ Mosquito on the Drive Express on Word Fm, King Ayinsoba said the wearing of smock was formally considered a preserve of the elderly and the rich in society but the Batakari Night Festival which was initiated some five years ago has disabused the minds of those who held that notion.

“Previously people thought that the wearing of the smock was a preserve of the elderly and the well to do in our society. But since I brought the Batakari Night Festival five years ago, many people now wear the smock. The youth especially have taken over the wearing of smock at every important occasion. It is no longer considered a wear for only the elderly. “

King Ayinsoba called on the various state authorities including the tourism authority to take it up and scale up the wearing of smocks to attract tourism into Ghana and the Northern part of Ghana especially.

” This is something that the state authorities should have taken over and promoted. I have done my part and I appeal to the tourism authority to take it up and to promote the wearing of smock in the country. This will create more employment to the youth in the Northern part of Ghana especially. “

The 2023 Batakari Night Festival will come off on January 28th, at the Kokrobite hotel in Accra .

King Ayinsoba is a performing artist at the 2022 Word Fm Happy Man Bitters Upper East Old Schools Reunion Dinner Night at the Jacom Hotel Bolgatanga on 2nd January,2022.
