“when the military came to Bugri and Garu, they said they were looking for weapons, they went into rooms and they stole money. Is money a weapon? you stole mobile phone and you call yourself military and you are wearing uniforms?, these are armed robbers in uniform and we want them to be brought to book”.

The demonstrators presented a petition to the Interior, National Security and Defence ministry as well as the speaker of Parliament through the districts chiefs executives for Garu and Tempane.

The districts chiefs executives who promised to deliver the petition to the appropriate ministries, claimed they had no prior knowledge of the military invasion.
