The DCE further stated that, with the support of constituents and key stakeholders, some traders operating around the old Fire Service office agreed to vacate the area earmarked for the new project. This has created the needed space for contractors to begin preparations for the construction.

Mr. Abugre also explained that three large mahogany trees that currently beautify the town will be affected as part of the process of preparing the site for the project. He added that the project, funded through the MP’s personal resources, when completed will have key facilities such as offices for fire officers, hostels for staff, additional space for personnel,Improved amenities, including, parking space for fire tenders, accommodating about three to four vehicles plans are advanced to include designated parking lots for ambulances in the future.

Mr. Abugre said the MP’s intervention will significantly improve the district’s fire service operations. He explained that the old fire station was too small to support the staff and their night-duty accommodation, which prompted the MP to mobilize private resources for the new facility.

He stated that after discussions with traders who owned businesses on the land, work experienced a short delay.

However, the evacuation process has been completed smoothly, and the contractor is now expected to begin full work before the end of this week
