
The Upper East Regional Police Command has arrested a masked, notorious armed robber, Jeffrey Alentis, aged 26, at Zorbisi, a suburb of the Bolgatanga Municipality, in the Upper East Region of Ghana.
According to the District Commanding Officer, DCOP John Ferguson Dzineku, the arrest took place on 16th June 2026, at about 0400 hours.
The complainant, a female, was sleeping in her room at Zaari when the suspect scaled a fence wall and entered the house. Police say the suspect entered the victim’s room through the kitchen while wearing a face mask.
Police statement signed by the Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Abdul-Rahman Sumaila, further stated that the suspect attacked the victim with pepper spray and made away with her laptop computer and Samsung Galaxy A07 mobile phone.
The statement also said Jeffrey Alentis forced the victim to provide the password to the phone, as well as her mobile money pin code, before escaping.Following an intelligence-led operation, the police traced and arrested the suspect from his hideout at Zorbisi, Bolgatanga Municipality.

The suspect then led the police to his accomplice, Moro Mohammed age 36, a mobile phone seller, from whom all the stolen items were retrieved. Both suspects are currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.
The police have also assured the public of their resolve to keep the region safe for law-abiding citizens.
