Talensi: Alibo Calls on Electorate to Vote for Him to Facilitate Comparison of NPP and NDC Track Records

Mr Robert Ayinenaba Alibo PC fills his nomination forms with the electoral commission.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Talensi constituency in the Upper East Region of Ghana, Mr. Robert Ayinenaba Alibo, has urged the electorate to vote for him and retain the NPP government. His goal is to create a platform for constituents to compare the track records of the NDC members of Parliament over the years.

Mr. Alibo made this call after successfully filing his nomination forms to contest the Talensi constituency seat in the upcoming general election. He criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stating that their campaign for change was misguided, as the need for improvement in the constituency has been evident. He noted that the NDC has held the parliamentary seat for over 20 to 30 years without any visible achievements.

“Today, we did a solemn duty of filling the nomination forms with the Electoral Commission that basically sets us up to begin to wrestle the seat from the NDC. The future looks very good because the kind of campaign the NDC runs in the constituency, for eight years of NPP governance, they (NDC) cannot put up with. The Talensi people have had to deal with 30 years of parliamentary governance, so if there is a need to change, then the need is greater in the area of the parliamentary seat. Alibo will take over the seat and also work. That is the only way we can make a comparison to say that an NPP MP in the person of Alibo has done much, and the rest of them in the NDC have done this. That breeds competition and gets the best out of the people who lead good leaders. So that is the call I’m making to the people of Talensi to decide in December for us to have the best out of the people who lead them,” Alibo noted.

In the 2012 general election, Robert Nachinaab Doameg Mosor of the NPP won the seat with 11,380 votes, representing 46%, defeating the late John Akologu Tia, who secured 9,119 votes, representing 33.22%. The seat became vacant when the former member of Parliament decided to contest again for the Talensi constituency seat.
