Lawyer Anthony Namoo NPP Regional chairman

The Upper East Regional chairman of the party, Lawyer Anthony Namoo noted that though the party was in court, per the party constitution, it does not prevent them from holding their annual delegates conference.

Article 17 (29) of the New Patriotic Party’s constition made a provision for the party to hold their annual delegates conference, so the conference is to educate the delegates about the court injunction pending in court and deliberate on party issues and not to acclaim the Member of Parliament.

Some party executives

He indicated that the party didn’t disqualified Mr. Alex Avoka Amolebugri in the 2019 Primaries when he had no issues with discrepancy in his certificates, his age, inconsistencies with his names on his certificates as well as forgery. He stated that Mr. Alex Avoka Amolebugri is also known as Avoka Joseph Azumah, and could not produce his student identity card, and certificates to indicate that he has actually completed the said university which were the basis the party committee disqualified him.

The disqualified Avoka has sought an interlocutory injunction on the part’s acclamation of the siting Member of Parliament for the area.
