UE/R: BONSEC teachers eulogize former headmaster

Teachers of Bongo Senior High School in the Upper East Region poured praises on a former headmaster of the school, Mr. Anthony Adimazoya for his stewardship during his tenure.

The teachers at a send-off party organised for Adimazoya took time to it all about him.

Mr. Ageeyine Francis, a teacher at the Bongo Senior High School narrated how Mr. Anthony Adimozoya rescued him from alcoholism. He narrated how alcohol almost destroyed him. The young teacher explained that the former headteacher’s intervention brought a new hope into his life. He moved from being an alcoholic to a workerholic.

He disclosed that alcohol sellers as well as his fellow teachers got amazed when he quit alcohol intake.

Mr. Mark Akuribire Atiah who is the current President of the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations in the Upper East Region and a teacher at the school teacher presented a smock attire and a citation as an appreciation to the former Headmaster.

He told Word News that it was during Mr. Anthony’s tenure as a headmaster that he realized there was the allocation of money to the school Student Representative Council (SRC). He rebuked most headmasters for their silence on monies allocated to the SRC.
It’s his hope that the present school of the former headmaster will benefit from his experience.

“The first time I heard there was money allocated to SRC activities, was when he came to school as a headmaster, called the SRC and their management, and gave them the money, that was the first time we heard that they was something like that from the government. He exhibited a lot of leadership skills that we will be missing. since he has gone on transfer but fortunately, he is not going out of the region. so, we will still tap some of the experience that he had”.

Mrs. Marie-Antoinette M’ba, head of department for the English Language indicated that unlike some headmasters who intimidate teachers, Mr. Anthony created room for teachers to upgrade and encouraged teachers who had degrees to support one another and pursue their masters degrees.

She added that Mr Anthony were refused to entertain gossip.

Addressing the teachers at his send-off party, Mr. Adimazoya expressed his heart felt appreciation.

“As I stand before you, I am filled with a myriad of emotions as I bid farewell to the incredible family of Bonsec. It has been an honour and privilege to serve as your headmaster. The time has come for me to embark on a new chapter.

In the tapestry of my career, the years spent here in Bongo SHS will forever stand out as a vibrant and fulfilling period. The heart and soul of any educational institution lie in the dedication and passion of its staff, and in that regard, I am truly humbled to have worked alongside such an exceptional group of individuals.

To the teaching faculty, your commitment to excellence in education has been the driving force behind our students’ successes. Day in, day out, you have poured your knowledge, creativity, and compassion into the minds and hearts of our students. Your tireless efforts have not only shaped their academic journeys but have also contributed to their personal and character development.

To the administrative and support staff, your behind-the-scenes work has been the glue that holds the intricate machinery of this school together. From managing operations to creating a nurturing environment for learning, your dedication has been nothing short of remarkable. The smooth functioning of Bongo SHS owes great deal to your hard work and diligence.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the collaboration, camaraderie, anc shared vision that has defined our time together. Each one of you has played an integral role in making Bongo SHS the thriving educational institution that it is today.
