Atulbabisi Community joins six communities as winners of the Ramadan Soccer Fiesta.

Atulbabissi made their senior brothers Tanzui Community speechless and confused as the beat them 2-0 at the final of this year’s Ramadan Soccer Fiesta in Bolgatanga on Sunday, 28th April, 2024. The game started with Tanzui in control of the game until the first goal at the middle of the first half. There was still hope for both players and management team members as well as supporters of Tanzui after the first half ended 1-0.


The entire body of the team got demoralised when the second goal came almost at the end of the game. The team that came with two VIP buses, one for players and the other one for supporters left quietly as compare to their arrival. Tanzui has been to the final three times winning one and lost two.


Atulbabissi at long last have written their name in the record books of Ramadan Soccer Fiesta. This is their first time of lifting the main tournament trophy. Through out the tournament, their style of play did not convince spectators they will go far.
Atulbabisi have joined Kotokoli-zongo, Majeema, Olicoco, Tanzui, Soe and Zongo as winners of the Ramandan Soccer Fiesta.


Suwedu Hisham of Zong was adjudged goal king of the tournament with 5 goals, Best goalkeeper went to Bright Akabari of Atulbabissi and Jude Ayamdor of Tindonsobligo took the Most Valuable Player Award.


Below are positioning of the communities from fourth to the winner
4th place – Tindonsobligo (Set of Jersey and two Footballs)
3th place – Zongo (Bronze medals, set of Jersey and Ghc 500.00)
1st Runner-Up – Tanzui ( Silver medals, set of Jersey and Ghc 1000.00)
Champion – Atulbabissi (Trophy, goal medals, set of Jersey and Ghc 2000.00)
Meanwhile the remaining communities had two footballs each. The 24 communities had appearance fee of Ghc 250.00 each from New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate for Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Hon. Figo Atiah Awonekai.

The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency who doubles as the Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress, Hon. Isaac Adongo gave each community an amount of Ghc 300.00 as appearance fee.

History of the Ramadan Soccer Fiesta
The Bolgatanga Muncipal Ramadan Soccer Fiesta in the Upper East Region started with only two Muslim communities namely; D-Line and Ashtown. It was formerly started in the year 2008 with 4 communities ( D-Line, Ashtown, Kotokoli-Line and Olicoco) but the tournament got cancelled in the final game as a result of a player injured (broken leg).

In 2009 could not come on because of Jersey problem.

The following Communities won the Ramadan Soccer Fiesta trophy.

2011 – Kotokoli-Line

2012 – Kotokoli-Line

2013 – Kotokoli-Line

2014 – Olicoco

2015 – Majeema

2016 – Soe Community

2017 – 2017 Olicoco

2018 – The tournament was cancelled due to luck of field

2019 – Tanzui (defending champion)

2020 – The tournament did to come on, as a result of ban on social gathering because of Coronavirus pandemic

2021 – Zongo

2022-Kotokoli-zongo

2023-Did not come on.

2024-Atulbabiisi
