2024 Elections: You will run out of the constituency when I start full campaign– NDC’s Dominic Ayine to NPP’s Silas Amoah

The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga East constituency in the Upper East Region has taken a swipe at the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate, Silas Amoah.

Silas Amoah is in the news in recent times for embarking on projects in constituency including – drilling of boreholes, repairing of the constituency ambulance, financial and logistics support to the district health doctorate among others.

Dominic Ayine however berated Silas Amoah’s interventions as he accused the New Patriotic Party of doing nothing to better the livelihood of the constituents. For Dominic Ayine, the NPP parliamentary candidate will soon know his level when comparative campaign of projects and contributions are tabled.

He noted that the NPP government will find it impossible to point a finger to a single project in the constituency, except the Agenda 111 hospital project which he says is snailspacing.

The law maker made these remarks at a ceremony where he donated 200,000.00 Ghana cedis of his National Health Insurance Fund towards the completion of the Katakanga Maternity block.

“There is this notion that the MP is the one to provides all the services or is the one who is supposed to bring about development.

Development is the obligation of the government in power and as far as I, am concerned, in this constituency, the New Patrotic Party government has done very little, apart from the agenda 111. I don’t even know what stage it is. we had had very little development, so everything that you see that is by way of development in terms of schools, health infrastructure and so on were initiated and completed by the NDC government and I’ve continued to assist in the development of the constituency, so when the parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party is roaming around making donations, he gave four or so packets of roofing sheets to the health directorate and made it look like the Member of parliament is not leaving up to expectations and he is stepping in. He is not stepping in, he is not an independent candidate, so you the media should let him know that he is not an independent candidate. He is the parliamentary candidate for New Patriotic Party, the government is not performing , the government that has send Ghana backwards 20 years, so where he gets his money from, at the appropriate time, we will know”.

Dr. Ayine accused the government of denying him funds to complete a library project he initiated in the constituency. He however expressed hope of acquaring a private fund to complete the library.
