Bongo: DCE Hands Over 200 Dual Desk To GES

The Bongo District Chief Executive has handed over 200 dual desks to the Bongo district Directorate of the Ghana education service. The donation is to augment the increasing furniture deficit in the district.

Many schools in the district are still battling with the issue of furniture shortage as many pupils are still lying on their bellies to learn.

200 dual desks for onwards distribution .

Presenting the 200 furniture to the district director of education, the district chief executive, Atanga Rita hinted that plans are far advanced to supply an additional 1, 300 dual desk to the directorate by the end of February to improve effective teaching and learning in the district.

“we are presenting to you 200 furniture for onwards distribution to the various schools, we hope that this will go a long way to help the teaching and learning in the classroom and to help reduce the furniture deficit in our district and by the ending of the month February we hope more of the dual desks will be ready because we still have about 1,300 dual desks to supplied to the Ghana Education Services in the district”.

She admonished various head teachers to improved upon the maintenance culture to increase the sustainability of the furniture.
Mr. Ibrahim, Mumuni the district director of the Ghana Education Service thanked the DCE for the kind gesture saying that the donation of the 200 dual desks is a very huge strip that will take care of about 400 school children in the district, and when 1,300 dual desks are received, it will take care of 2000 children.
“Ever since I came, I see your desire to see education improve in Bongo, and I believe this one giant step that will lead to better outcomes in the system. 200 dual desks is going to take care of 400 hundred pupils and to hear that over 1,300 dual desks are going to come meaning over 2,000 are going to benefit”.
