4,393 JHS Students Failed to Sit For 2022 BECE.

The West Africa Examination Council has disclosed that 4,309 out of 552,288 students from public schools who registered to write the 2022 BECE absented themselves from the entire exams.

Another 84 students out of 1,144 students who registered to write the exams as private students failed to show up at their designated examination centres to write the exam.

The examination body made this known when it released the results of BECE candidates who entered for the 2022 examination from both public and private schools and private candidate across the country on 25th January,2023.

WAEC in a press release said it has cancelled the subject results of 416 and 3 candidates from both public and private schools and private candidates respectively for bringing foreign materials into the exams hall or colluding with other candidates.

The council has also cancelled the entire results of 78 students and 3 privates respectively for bringing mobile phones into the examination centre.

WAEC has cautioned parents and students to be careful of fraudsters who promise to change their results for them at a fee because “WAEC results are secured and can be authenticated.”
