Madam Yakubu Abagnama Fawzia has been elected the Regional Woman Organiser of the of the National Democratic Congress for the Upper East Region.
Madam Fawzia joined the contest for election as the Upper East Regional Women Organiser as a new entrant against the incumbent, Madam Haruna Rahinatu, , who led the women wing of the party from 2018 to 2022.
At the end of the election which took place in the early hours of Saturday, 12th November, 2022 at the auditorium of the library complex of the Bolgatanga Technical University, Madam Yakubu Abagnama Fawzia pulled 28 votes to defeat the incumbent, Madam Haruna Rahinatu, who pulled 17 votes.
Musah Mariama Anatia won the deputy Regional Women Organiser position with 15 votes as against her closest contender,Grace Nkaw Awini who pulled 13 votes. Bakiva Monica and Akwulpwa Agnes pulled 12 and 04 votes respectively.
The election of other officers is still underway.
