The Upper East Regional Branch of the National Democratic Congress has elected new officers to run the affairs of the party in the region for the next four years and to help the party win power in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Eight positions went unopposed including the office of the Regional Chairman,Mr. Alhaji Abdulai Bolnaba, Organiser, Mr. Ibrahim Mutawakilu ,Treasure, Mr. Fidelis Aguwine, Deputy Secretary,Ms. Ophelia Atoklo and Deputy Treasure, Anachinaba Teni Monica.
Retained Officers
The longest serving secretary of the NDC, Mr. Donatus Akamukri brushed off his only contender, Mr. Thomas Abiola by obtaining 300 votes as against 186 votes to retain his office as the Regional Secretary.
Mr. Abraham Lambon, the Incumbent Regional Youth Organiser also pulled 27 votes to beat off challeng from Anolga David and Awuni Ben who obtained 24 and 7 votes respectively. Joseph Apuakasi maintained his position as one of the deputy youth organisers with 21 votes as against Samari Samson who won the second deputy Youth Organiser position with 21 votes. Imoro Musah Saani lost out with 17 votes.
New Entrance
Jonathan Abdellah fought off a strong contest from the incumbent Regional Communication Officer, Mr. SaeedTijani and his deeputy Mr. Sunday Caspar Kampoli to win the Regional Communication Officer position. Mr. Abdellah pulled 264 votes as against 198 votes and 26 votes for Sunday Caspar and Mr. Saeed Ahmed Tijani respectively.
Yakubu Abagnama Fawzia defeated the incumbent Upper East Regional Women Organiser, Rahinatu Haruna, with 28 votes as against 17 votes.

The program also saw some bigwigs from from the National Headquarters including the current Women Organiser, Dr. Louisa Bissiw and the National Youth Organiser, Mr. Akamba, gracing the occation.
The program was successfully organised from the beginning to the end without any disturbance.
