UE: NDC Regional Elections Results, Victors and Flops

Elected executives

Sores of members of the largest opposition party in Ghana’s political landscape, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper East Region on Saturday, November 12th, 2022 elected new regional executives.

About 500 delegates comprised of Constituency executives, sitting regional executives, members of Parliament, former district and municipal Chief Executives, other former appointees, and the council of elders amongst others gathered at the Bolgatanga Technical University ( BTU) Library Complex to choose leaders who would steer the affairs of the Party for the next four years.

The incumbent regional Chairman, Alhaji Abdulai Mumumi Bolnaba,Organizer, Ibrahim Yasdanan,Treasurer, Fidelis Adagwine, Duputy Treasurer, Anachinaba Monica and Deputy Secretary, Ophelia Atoklo, went unopposed.

The incumbent regional Secretary, Donatus Akamugri, retained his position for the seventh conservative times as he garnered 300 votes while two times contender, and former deputy regional secretary, Thomas Abiola managed 186 votes.

Regional Youth Organizer, Abraham Lambon managed to win with 27, whilst his former deputy Youth Organiser, David Amoliga got 24 votes and Ben Awuni got seven votes.

Meanwhile, the incumbent regional Women’s Organizer, Rahinatu Haruna lost to Fawziatu Yakubu,as the pulled 17 and 28 votes respectively.

Incumbent Communications Officer, Saeed Tijani and his deputy, Casper Sunday Kampoli to seasoned political communicator Abdalah Jonathan Salifu as they gannered, 26, 198 and 264 votes respectively.

Alhaji Hudu Yahaya the Zongo Caucus gathered 188 votes losing to Salifu Alukuba who won with 198 votes and their other contender, Labaran Kassim had 103 votes.

The rest are:
Deputy Communication Officer, Benjamin Atuasi, 40 votes against Issah Tanimu 32 votes.

Deputy Organizer, John Nyaaba won with votes 297 against Mutari Amidu’s 191 votes.

Joseph Apuakasi-21 votes and Samari samson 20 votes both secured the place as Deputy Youth Organizers against Imoro Musah Saani, 17 votes.

Deputy women’s organizers, Musah Mariama, 15 votes and Grace Awuni 13 votes secured their place against Monica Bavaba, 12 votes and Akwulpwa Agnes, four votes.

Abubakar Salifu,131 votes, Issaka Haruna, 108 votes retained their position as Regional Vice Chairmen against Akasuna Clement,104 votes, Martin Azumowah, 64 votes, Gariba Adama, 40 votes and Akanyele Williams, 40 votes.
