Talensi: Assembly Supply 115 Dual Desk to Yagzoori primary school Where Students Sit on the Floor to Study.

The Talensi District Assembly has supplied 115 dual desk to the Yagzoori Primary School to solve the furniture deficit in the school.

Images of school children from the Yagzori basic school lying on the bare floor to have their studies went viral on social meadia a week ago. The unhygenic environment from which the students had their studies attracted wide condemination from the general public with many wondering why a gold reourced district would allow students to sit and lie on the bare floor to have their studies.

The DCE, Hon. Thomas Dounab Wuni, in anterview on the Word Community Watch Show last two weeks, promised to resolve the challenge as soon as possible.

” Its a situation that we are aware of and are working to resolve it as soon as possible. We have taken the number and the district is working on resolving it.”

True to his words, the asswmbly on Monday, 21st March,2022, supplied about 80 dual desk to the school and added 35 on Tuesday to bring the total number to 115.

Hon. Dounab confirmed the supply of the furniture to the school to Mr. Simon Agana Blessing on the Word Community Watch Show on Zuarungu based Word Fm.

” Yes, when we did the calculation i think we are supposed to give 115 dual desk to them and all of them are ready and we are going to give it to them today.”

Hon. Dounab added that efforts are underway to fix the funiture situation in all the schools in the district that have furniture problems.

The DCE also discounted claims that it is the pictures on social media that forced the assembly to reolve the funiture problem.

“Let me put on record that early in January we had gone there to assess the situation so we wree actually working around the corner to fix the situation, so let no one think that it is the pictures on socila media that got us to solve the proble”
