Bodies of Two Murdered Police Officers Airlifted to Accra.

The bodies of the two police officers with the Zuarungu Police command, Const. Emmanuel Akowuah and Const. Adam Sule who were murdered by suspected armed robbers have been airlifted from the Pwalugu Police training school to Accra to be handed over to their families for the necessary rites and burial.

At the Pwalugu Police training school, a brief parade was organized on Friday 17th December, by the police service to honour the fallen men and to bid them fair well from the Upper East Region.

The Inspector General of Police,. Dr. George Dampare lead a high powered delegation of senior police officers to observe the parade.

Meanwhile the IGP has directed the Eastern and Volta Regional commanders to lead a delegation to Kibi and Alavanyo respectively to commiserate with the families of the two police officers and convey the condolences of the police administration.

Updates on the Killing of the Two.

The two police officers on a motorbike within the Bolga East District were on night patrols when they unexpected appeared at a robbery scene and they were shot at by the suspected robbers who had held a shop owner in the Zuarungu market hostage and were robbing him off his money.

The suspected robbers first shot one of the officers off the motorbike and then fired the motorbike. The bullets pierced through the motor tank which caused the tank to explode into flames ,partially burning Conts. Adam Sule and killing him in the process.

The suspected robbers who appeared ready to eliminate anything that will stand their way, followed up on Conts. Emmanuel Akowuah and shot him multiple times, killing him on the spot.

IGP Dr. Dampare Visits Zuarungu.

The Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Dampare ,COP Akolgo Patrick , other high ranking members of the police service, visited the scene, lead by the Upper East Regional Commander , Mr. Gariba and other officers and interacted with the community members. The IG promised to bring the perpetrators of the crime to book either dead or alive. He also assured the community that the men in uniform will do everything to protect them.

GHc50,000.00 Reward Arrest of Armed Robbers

The Upper East Regional Public affairs Director has announced that the police administration has offered an amount of GHc50,000.00 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the suspected armed robbers who committed the gruesome murder.

Meanwhile the police administration has launched a special anti-robbery intelligence-led operation to track down and arrest the the three suspected robbers who shot and killed the two police officers.
