UER: IGP wants police killers dead or alive.

The Inspector General of Police – Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has charged personnel of the Ghana police service to employ all accepted possible means to arrest the killers of the two male young police officers who were gruesomely killed and burnt by some suspected armed robbers at Zuarungu in the Bolgatanga East District of the Upper East Region. 

The two police officers met their untimely death when three armed robbers attacked a trader in the Zuarungu market on the evening hours of Wednesday December 15. Armed with sophisticated weapons, the robbers upon seeing the said police officers who were at a point of buying food at a food vendor close to the shop where the robbery was going on, shot and killed the unarmed police officers at the spot. Their Motorcycle caught fire and burnt the mortal remains of the officers.

During a distress visit to the Upper East Region following the incident, COP Dampare upon meeting with security capos as well as stakeholders charged his men to get the culprits arrested “dead or alive”.

unfortunately, met their untimely death at the Zuarungu Market area. Since yesterday, we’ve been working towards arresting the perpetrators. The inspector general of police Dr George Akuffo Dampare has paid a visit to the region to get first-hand information about the incident and also to raise the morale of our personnel. Earlier, he visited the crime scene at the Zuarungu market square, he also visited the paramount  chief of Zuarungu and his people at the Chief palace.

He met the people near the crime scene and assured that we will do everything possible with the police administration  to endure we get the perpetrators of this heinous crime either dead or alive and he wish that we get them dead, what it means is that he has tasked the police personnel in the Upper East region to do everything possible to arrest the perpetrators of this heinous crime”.

The police command has also promised a 50,000 bounty to persons with information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
