UE/R:Republic Bank of Ghana Commissions a new Banking Hall,With a Promise to Grow With the Communities.

NEW Banking Hall

The Republic Bank of Ghana has commissioned a new banking hall in the Bolgatanga municipality of the Upper East Region to serve the financial needs of its customers and the public at large.

The bank which previously operated from a small banking hall with its inadequate space and its overcrowding will now operate from the defunct First Allied bank located opposite the Sawaba Park and at the entrance to the vegetable market in the Bolgatanga market, which provides more space for effective and convenient banking to afford its customers more comfort and banking satisfaction.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the managing director of the Republic Bank,Mr. Farid Antar, said the bank is pleased to move into a new banking hall that is more spacious and more comfortable for its staff and customers to serve the region which is growing.

“we are very pleased to be able to move into very much larger and more comfortable facility for customers and our staff from where we were before was a bit small. We see the Bolga area and the region as a whole as one that is growing, it like they become even much more actively”

Mr. Farid said the bank is aware of the increasing mine activities and trainings which will culminate into more job opportunities in the banking indusry and that the bank is committed to growing and growing wit its communities.

“Republic bank is committed to growing and growing with our communities.”

The Managing director disclosed plans by the bank to stay in the region for a very long time and as a result of that, expand to other parts of the region and introduce up-to-date digital technology .

“we intend to be around for a very long time. we are looking at our footprint where we need to maybe expand or relocate and also of course introduce new technology, we don’t have the most up to date digital technology but we will be launching this next month. We are getting ourselves well listening market so that our customers can reach us wherever they want.”

The Upper East regional minister, Hon. Steven Yakubu who was a guest of honour at the short ceremony, was happy at the expansion of the bank as it will create more jobs for the youth. He however suggested that the bank should expand to other parts of the region and not just stay in the capital.

“You should not just stay in the Bolgatanga but to expand. Expand to other areas of the region. We have the Bawku areas and the Navrongo areas also.”

Hon Steven Yakubu also urged the bank to honour its social responsibility to contribute to the development of the region.

“I also don’t want them to forget that we are in a region where we have plenty but we are poor and therefor they should not forget their social responsibility to the people of Upper East Region.

The Member of Parliarment of the Bolga Central Constituency appealed to the bank to go out and get the many poeple with potential who do not have access to financial services.

Hon. Isaac Adongo also encouraged the management of the bank to look for the customers of the defunct First Allied Bank and find those they can work with to get them back on their feet.
