Dr. China speaks on breaking the 8.

The immediate past deputy Ghanaian ambassador to China and former director of finance and administration of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Charles Dwabena has called on members of his party to focus on breaking the 8.
Widely known as Dr. China, he noted that the process of breaking the ‘8’ is on course and there is therefore the need for proper collaboration ” going forward in breaking the 8, we need more organization, what we are seeing here in Bolgatanga is wonderful, see the activities and the amount of energy in people, it tells you that indeed we have the strength in our numbers and when we talk of breaking the 8, it’s something within reach. what is perhaps left is to put this energy together and build a stronger party, one that is financially sound and that would be able to take care of the financial needs of the people and I say that with that we will be able to overcome any opposition when we enter into an election .personally, I believe it’s only an NPP government that can transform Ghana and make it a prosperous country but for that to happen, the party must stay in power for at least four consecutive terms ” he noted .

Touting his party’s economic achievement, Dr. Dwamena told word news that the Ghanaian cedi is the strongest currency in West Africa and is currently one of the top three [3] performing currencies in Africa due to the prudent financial management. “As we speak, the Ghanaian currency is the strongest in West Africa, these are facts, and it’s the strongest currency In West Africa, one of the top three in Africa and why is it so? Someone might think that it came by magic but no, it came through prudent financial management. What President Nana Akuffo Addo did from the beginning? He said let’s build factories, lets put these factories at various parts of the country and people were making mockery of him that this can’t happened. it wouldn’t happened, but today we are seeing it even in a pandemic era where other economies are crumbling, South Africa is struggling, other countries, great economics are suffering , but look at Ghana we are bouncing off as if we never entered into a pandemic. Things are not one hundred percent okay, but at least comparatively we have done far better”.

He expressed optimism that the party will win election 2024 regardless who leads them as a standard bearer.
The national treasure hopeful noted that the New Patriotic Party made significant gains in the 2020 general elections relative to the Upper East region elections results.

‘In the Upper East Region, the performance in the presidential election saw a slight increase as compared to the 2016 general elections. In 2016 Nana Akuffo Addo 157,398 votes representing 34.93% as John Drahamani Mahama had 271,796 representing 60.32% and 3 seats while the NDC had 12 seats in parliament, in 2020 presidential Nana Akuffo Addo increase by 2 votes and decrease drastically from 3 seats in parliament to 1 seat while John Mahama increased from 271,796 to 322,317 with an increase number 14 seats in the parliamentary seats’. He however noted that the party is taking steps to amend whatever led to the poor performance in the Upper East Region.
