The out-going Municipal Chief Executive officer of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly, Hon. Joseph Amiyuure, has handed over the administration of the Assembly to the new Chief Executive officer, Hon. Rex Asanga Simon to run the affairs of the assembly.
The Hon. Joseph Amiyuure was appointed and confirmed as MCE of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly on 16th May 2017 to 11th October 2021.
He has handed over to the new MCE after the nominee got overwhelming endorsement from members of the Assembly during the confirmation exercise. He pulled 39 out of 39 votes to secure 100% endorsement.
Hon. Joseph Amiyuure took to his Facebook handle to express his gratitude to party leadership, elders, youth groups and the president for the support during his tenure which he described as turbulent “I have worked in a turbulent environment and I give thanks to the Municipal Security Committee which I was Chairman for their vigilance.”

Today the 11th of October 2021, I handover the administration of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly to Hon. Rex Asanga as MCE of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly.
I give glory to God for His mercies on me for the period I have been MCE for the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly ( 16th May 2017 to 11th October 2021). His name deserves praise.
His Excellency the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo gave me the opportunity to serve under his first term as MCE , Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly. I am most grateful your Excellency.
I can not forget the party leadership, national, regional, counstituency, electoral areas and polling stations for the support offered me.
Let me also acknowledge party elders, patrons and youth groups in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency for their support.
To the entire support base of the party in Bolgatanga I say thank you and the good Lord shall always be with us.
Occupying a position and presiding over a non partisan institution like the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly I have to give praise to Honourable members of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly for the maturity in taken decisions to the benefit of the people we are serving. Clear examples have been the elections of Presiding Members for the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly. The most recent one is the overwhelming confirmation of the nominee of the President for the position of MCE for Bolgatanga.
I have worked in a turbulent environment and I give thanks to the Municipal Security Committee which I was Chairman for their vigilance.
I worked well with all Regional Ministers in my tenure and my colleagues MDCEs of the Upper East Region.
I will conclude by thanking the Traditional rulers of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly, the chiefs.
Our religious leaders deserve my praise for their spiritual guidance
As I retire back into the political system which I belong my support for the political system is unwavering.
I conclude by thanking everybody in the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly. I had genuine counseling from people who do not belong to my party which I must acknowledge.
