Endorsed District Chief Executive for the Bongo in the Upper East Region Madam Rita Atanga has pledged to work to the benefit of the district. The first female District Chief Executive for Bongo since the inception of Local Government System in 1988.
Assembly secured a hundred percent vote cast after the 54 assembly members of the district voted yes in her to confirm her nomination.
www.mywordfmonline.com can report that some assembly members prior to the secret voting championed for a popular acclamation, but that was shot down by Mr Henry Adeeze officer in charge of the electoral commission who cited portion of the law that was alien to that request.
Madam Rita in her address mentioned education, health, agriculture, water and sanitation amongst others as her prioritized area to tackle. She thanked the president for nominating her as well the Assembly members for the historic endorsement.
Present at the confirmation event included the paramount chief of the area, Naba Baba Salifu Alemyaarum among others.
