The maiden edition of the Happy Man Plus One Sala soccer Gala 2021 competition will come to an end on 15th August, 2021 at the Mobile Astro turf in Bolgatanga where Bolga-Soe community will lock horns with Bolga-Estate for the ultimate trophy.The 3rd and 4th place match will be played on Saturday, 14th August, 2021, a day before the final at the same venue between Bukere and Kotokoli-Zongo.
The competition started on 21st July, 2021, involving 16 Communities in the Bolgatanga Municipality. The communities played from the group stages through to the knock out stage, quarter finals and semi-finals. Bolga-Soe and Bolga Estate are the only two teams that showed skills, tenacity and power reach the final which comes off on Sunday 15th, August 10, 2021.
The tittle sponsor of the gala,Charger Limited, producers of the popular Happy Man betters and the now fast growing soft beverages including -Plus 1 Cola, Plus 1 Mango, Plus 1 Tamarind, Plus 1 Apple and Plus 1 Energy drink, will decorate the winners with medals, trophy and cash. Mr. Emmanuel Bortey Boketey, the CEO of Charger Limited is expected to grace the occasion on Sunday.
The gala has attracted notable players in Ghana football playing for their communities including the likes of Paul Abanga of relegated Inter Allies who played for Soe community and Shadrack Adombila ,winner of Rexona be next champion who represented Ghana in the Africa 11 team that played against Chelsea FC in England also played for Kotokoli-Zongo.
The gala also saw head coach of Berekum Chelsea, Abdul Abu Hannah in attendance to watch the Semi-final match between Kotokoli-Zongo and Bolga-Soe where his assistant coach Francis Francis Bawumia was a coached.
The winner of the gala will be rewarded with a Trophy, a set of Jersey, 25 gold medals and a cash prize of Ghc 2,000.00, 1st Runner-up will also get a set of Jersey, 25 bronze medals and a cash prize of Ghc 100.00 while the 2nd Runner-up will take home with some medals Ghc 500.00
