3 Former Tanga SC Players Called Up to Black Satellite


Three players of one time vibrate Division One League club in the Upper East region , Tanga Sporting Club have been called by Ghana U20 head coach Abdul Karim Zito as part of a 35-man squad announced by the GFA for camping at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre for Excellence in Prampram.

The three who have been called include, Solomon Oppong (striker), Moses Bawa Zure (Defender) who now play for Cheetah FC and Samari Abass (Midfielder) who plays for Young Apostles.

Tanga Sporting Club have produced good players over the years who have represented the region in various competitions, played at the national level and the country. Benjamin Aloma a member of the Black Satellite team that won the WAFU tournament and the U-20 AFCON this year and Shadrack Adombila who won the Rexona be the Next champion in Ghana which qualified him to be part of Africa 11 that played against Chelsea legends in England are all players of Tanga SC.

The call ups have got the people of Upper East Region talking about the good talents produced in the region but because of lack of support, the region is behind in terms of soccer representation in the Ghana Premier League.

Anastasius Satuh of Kasena Nankana United and Bukari Sammed of Bolga All Stars are also players from the Upper East Region who are paert of the 35 man squad.

The invited players are currently in preparing for their upcoming international assignments.

The squad is made up of players from the last U17 national team and some players who were in the Coach Zito’s U20 team that won the WAFU and AFCON trophies.
