A severe rainstorm has destroyed approximately 23 houses in Yabrago, a farming community in the Tempane District of the Upper East Region.

The incident, which occurred on April 24, 2025, followed a thunderstorm accompanied by heavy rainfall that ripped the roofs off 22 local residential buildings and destroyed food supplies stored in the affected homes.

The impacted families have been left homeless and without food.
Imoro Douglas, a community member, stated, “The incident has affected not just the houses and structures, but also the foodstuffs stored in some of the rooms. The affected people are now homeless and starving.”

The victims are appealing to the government, NADMO, and benevolent organizations and individuals for assistance.
