Mr. Charles Taleog Ndanbon, the parliamentary candidate for the Nabdam constituency in the Upper East Region of Ghana, concluded his campaign in the Kongo-Goroug community by commissioning a mechanized borehole valued at 27,000 cedis. This initiative aims to address the community’s longstanding struggle with access to potable drinking water.

In an exclusive interview with Word News after the commissioning, Mr. Ndanbon noted that the community, led by Assembly Member Mort Mbabila, had been facing water issues for several years. The newly commissioned borehole is expected to supply water to the entire Kongo-Goroug community, allowing residents to access water directly in their homes.

Mr. Ndanbon criticized the incumbent Member of Parliament, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane, stating that despite requests for assistance with potable water, the community has not received the necessary support.
He urged the Kongo-Goroug community to vote for him in the upcoming election, promising to deliver better services and projects than they currently experience.

Mr. Seluk Zoore, an elder of the Kongo-Goroug community, expressed gratitude for the borehole project, emphasizing its significance for the community’s future. He highlighted the 20 to 30 years of struggle for potable water and called on residents to support Mr. Ndanbon to implement more initiatives, particularly in enhancing dry-season farming by fencing community gardens to boost vegetable production.
Mr. Zoore also mentioned that while there are many boreholes in their area, few are functional. He appealed for assistance for women and youth in the community to reduce their need to travel south for non-existent jobs.
