The Upper East Region branch of The Ghana Registered Nurses And Midwifes Association ( GRNMA), has supported one of its members, an accident victim, with Eight thousand Ghana cedis as part of their health fund of their association.
Mrs Nsoh Vivian Ayinpoka, a community health nurse in the Talensi district of the Upper East Region, suffered an accident some few months ago.
The accident left Mrs Nsoh Vivian Ayinpoka with a serious facture on her knee.
A surgery she underwent is said to be affecting her output. Her financial burden pushed her to apply for the Ghana Registered Nurses And Midwives Association health fund to be able to defray the cost of her knee surgery.
In response to her application, the association at the ceremony presented a cheque amounting to Eight thousand Ghana cedis through the Talensi District director of the Ghana health service, Madam Juliana Anam-eereme.
Mrs Nsoh Vivian Ayinpoka thanked the association for their timely intervention and urged non-members to join the association to able to benefit from the health fund when unpredictable situations like accidents occurs.
The Talensi District director of health services, Madam Juliana Anam-eereme who handed over the eight thousand Ghana cedis cheque to the Victim noted that she has been a member of the association since 1992 and and many have benefited from the association.
She noted that one of her staff also benefited Gh44k from the association health fund to undergo three successful surgeries.
“we are grateful to the association for giving such donation to my staff to defray some of her bills, when she was involved in an accident, it was not easy for us. we were struggling to see how we can support, but as you know Ghana health service now, there are no funds for such things but I’m happy the Ghana Registered Nurses And Midwives Association has come to her aid. I joined it since 1992 and even if I’m made the president of Ghana, I will still belong to this group because it is helpful to our members, when somebody is in need, they are able to come to the person’s aid. one of them even receive a cheque of forty four thousand which made her to under go surgery three times, now she can walked well and she is back to work ,this support to her, I believe will also help her to be able to come back to work nicely and then work towards the benefit of the clients she is brought to serve” Juliana Anam-eereme.
Mr Ayine Francis, a community health nurse with the Yagzoore CHPS compound, who doubles as the district secretary of the Ghana Registered Nurses And Midwives encouraged his colleague nurses and Midwives to enrolled themselves into the association in order for them to benefit from the packages of the association.
He highlighted some of these packages that have been rolled out and been geared towards the entire life span of each member. They include; Nurses land acquired by the association at Puso-Namongo in the Talensi District, nurses thier three fund ,spousal health fund , nurses welfare fund and a legal service for all members of the association who might have been sued in their line of duty.
