Agenda 111: I’m impressed about the progress of work so far -Nabdam DCE

The Nabdam district chief executive in the Upper East Region has expressed satisfaction over some work done so far by two contractors on the Agenda 111 project who have been re-awarded after the initial contractor for the project abandoned it for which was it abrogated in July last year.

The District Chief Executive, Mrs. Agnes Anamoo made this known during word news visit to the site after the contract was terminate in July 2023.

According to her, she was very satisfied with the level of commitment from the two contractors; BBB Company Limited and Askpar construction firms.

The lack of commitment from the previous contractor is said to have delayed the progress of the project. with the current two contractors, the project is progressing steadily.

Speaking to Edward Kaku, the site engineer for the Askpar construction firm, he disclosed that the firms is doing its best to bring in more artisans to double up the work.

He added that Askpar has been tasked to work on a mortuary unit, laundering unit, maternity ward, generator yard, kitchen unit female ward, and eight housing units which comprises 4/3 bedrooms housing unit and 4/2 bedrooms semi detached which houses the right families per the contract agreement.

Progress so far

“We have been mandated to work on the female ward, kitchen, stores and maintenance unit, we doing the mortuary unit, the laundering, the housing waste, the generator yard, and eight housing units which comprise 4/3 bedrooms housing unit, and 4/2 bedrooms semi-detached which will house eight families currently, we have been working on site since January 2024 we have doubled our efforts the last time you came here you saw the level of work, now you can bear witness to how things are going on, so we are even planning to add hands, we are expecting some artisans, Manson’s, carpenters to join us this week”.

Engineer Edward Kaku outlined the inadequate supply of labourers as their main challenge delaying the progress of the project.

BBB Company limited on the other hand has also being tasked to construct the Security and commerce, Waiting pavilion, administration block, Pharmacy, Public water closet, OPD
Reception, Lab and Diagnosis, Physiotherapy ,Public health, Accident and emergency ward Female/surgical ward ,Paediatric ward, Surgery ward.

Word News visit on a Sunday saw workers of BBB Company limited busily working at the site.
