PAC hunts Gumah and Sons Construction Firm over squandered cash

The parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC), of Parliament has tasked the sector minister for fisheries,  Mavis Hawa Koomson to drag the managers of Gumah and Sons, a local construction firm before it over financial embezzlement.

The company have been cited by the Auditor General for allegedly squandering 695,441 Ghana cedis for the supply of two Prado Toyota vehicles for the ministry in 2021. The company is said to have took the money, but failed to supply the vehicles.

In a related development,  Gumah and Sons abandoned the construction of a fishery edifice in the Savana region after receiving over 550,000.00 Ghana cedis.

Kamal Gumah is a New Patriotic Party’s activist. He recently lost in his bid to lead the New Patriotic Party as a National Youth Organiser.

Kumah and Sons are expected to appear before the committee on Monday, February 5, 2024.
