Talensi : Citizens of Tongo-Beo donate 32 pieces of furniture to a school

Citizens of Tongo-Beo in the Talensi district of the Upper East Region have donated 32 dual-desk to the Tongo-Beo Primary School.

Donating the furniture to the school, the assembly member for the Tongo-Beo electoral area, Mr. Cletus Ana-duko Musah told Word News that the donors of the 32 pieces of the dual desk are made up of supporters of the National Democratic Congress in the area, as well as citizens from the community base in Accra and a retired Navis army officer who is a son of the community.
He noted that the retired navist, Stephen Ayeo donated 15 dual desks while the NDC supporters also donated 13 dual desk, with the indigents base in Accra also donating four dual desk.

“We are here to present dual desks to the school through the philanthropists, the philanthropists we are talking about are the NDC caucus in Tongo-Beo presented 13 dual desk, one philanthropist who is a commander retired Stephen Ayeo also presented 15 dual desks and our brothers in Accra presented 4 dual desks summing it to 32 in number for the school”.

Mr. Cletus added that the donation was necessitated by the appeal of the chief of Tongo-Beo and the headteacher of the school to the community members far and near to support the school with dual desks to augment the furniture deficit in the school.

He appealed to the school to increase the spirit of the maintenance culture to ensure the longevity of the furniture.

The headteacher of Tongo-Beo primary school, Mr. Ayine Aboo Bedwin thanked the citizens of the community for the kind gesture and assured that they would put the furniture to good use to promote teaching and learning in the school and the community at large.
He also appealed to the citizens to support the school with a computer laboratory and a library.
