UE/R: One person stabbed to death in Yorogo

One person has been stabbed to death at Yorogo, in the Bolgatanga municipality during the just-ended district-level election.

The assembly member elect, Mr. Desmond Awine Ania told Word News that a misunderstanding ensued between the deceased Mr. Asobire Akuta, aged 27 and the suspect, Aduko Azeyiba.
The deceased is alleged to have slapped the suspect. The suspect in the process left the scene and threatened to return. He stayed to his words and returned with a knife and stabbed the decease, leading to his death.

The deceased, Word News understand was a polling station agent of the assembly member elect.

The suspect has since been arrested as law enforcers commenced investigations.

Mr. Desmond refuted claims that the suspect and the decease were fighting over the elections.

The deceased left behind a wife who recently gave birth to twins.

The incident has left the Yorogo community in a state of mourning.

The assembly member elect has promised to fight for justice for the bereaved family.
