Speaking to pressmen after presenting a cheque of twenty thousand Ghana cedis to the medical director of the regional hospital, Dr Saawie Aiden, Mr. Mathew Silas Amoah thanked the media in the Upper East Region for bringing the regional dialysis center issue to the lamplight, indicating that he would have not know that the region lacks a very sensitive center like the dialysis facility if not via the media.

“I got to hear of the information a couple of months ago when the media organized an award scheme, so it was brought to my attention, so first of all, I want to recommend the media for putting up to make people get to know what we are facing in the region, if not for the media, probably some of us would ot have heard of it. we don’t know the director, we don’t know the leadership of the hospital to hear about the plight they are facing here, so we’ve to recommend the media that it’s good they have taken the region as our own. I am a frafra from Zuarungu, I think when it comes to things like this, we have to put politics aside and face it as frafras. I’m fortunate to be part of the BONABOTO area and we are the frafra speaking people and the hospital happens to be on our land, the frafra speaking people so if it comes to our attention like this, lets not do our usual NDC , our usual NPP thing, it’s about saving lives”.

He also entreats the people of the Upper East Region to put partizan politics aside and support the facility because sickness does not have a political colour and anybody could get sick and may need the service of a dialysis center.

“I had an accident last week where my car somersaulted. It was medical people who came to save our lives, and it happened at a different constituency. people who did not that I was a politician, the first thing that was around was an ambulance and a medical doctor to see that we were save. so likewise some body can just come from Accra to the Upper East Region, the first thing we need to do is to save his/ her life before we even ask of the tribe, the political party. so things like this when it come to our attention, I think we have so many big men in this region. two or three people can take up this facility and do it for us”.

He however promised to support the facility with three brand-new air conditioners to facilitate the smooth running of the dialysis center when it is completed.

Mr. Silas Amoah however appeal to the people of the Upper East Region to support the project.
