A parliamentary aspirant hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Emmanuel Abereinga, has explained that he has offered himself for election as the NDC Parliamentary candidate for the Bolgatanga East Constituency to enable him intervene in actualising the enormous opportunities in the constituency for its transformation.
Speaking to the media at the party head office in Zuarungu after successfully filling his nomination forms on 22nd March, 2023, to contest the upcoming primaries, Dr. Abereinga said he has Visualised enormous opportunities in the constituency that will help in its the transformation which keeps him awake all time.
” As a development worker, as a development thinker, I have visualised the enormous opportunities for the transformation of Bolgatanga East and I cannot Sleep. I want to intervene. That is why I have finally offered myself in the hope that I will be given the chance to help the youth to catalyse development for Bolga East and the BONABOTO zone at large.”
The social worker who formerly worked with Action Aid Ghana and now a staff of the Northern Development Authority, said it has taken him six years to court a relationship with the constituency and to identify its needs before offering himself as an alternative to the incumbent Member of Parliament.
Dr. Abereinga disclosed that he has had sleepless nights over the rate of unemployment mong the youth and have consistently been inundated with several calls by the youth seeking for jobs. He said though he has been able to attend to some of the requests and now wants the opportunity to help the youth create their own jobs.
” Really, jobs for the youth keeps me awake in the night. I am inundated with calls for jobs for the youth. I have intervened in finding jobs for the youth and I know they cry and I know there is a deficit and I want to fill in that deficit. I have worked in the public sector all my life and I know all the public sector directors . I have engaged with them close range and that comradeship offers you and opportunity to open jobs for people. But above all, I am thinking of self created jobs.”
Dr. Emmanuel Abereinga is contesting the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Bolga East Constituency, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine in the 2023 parliamentary primaries of the NDC slated for 13th May,2023, for the sole ticket to represent the party in the constituency in 2024 general elections.
