The Zuarungu Nursing and Midwifery Training College in the Bolgatanga East District on Thursday 23rd February, 2023 , matriculated a total of 306 students into the school for the 2022/2023 Academic Year to pursue General Nursing, Post NAC/NAP Midwifery and Nurse Assistant Clinical programs.
In all, 132 students, 153 students, and 21 studenst were admitted to pursue Nurse Assistant Clinical, Registered General Nursing and Post NAP/NAC Midwifery programs respectively.
The Principal of the college, Mr. Mantamina Yidana Micheal, welcomed the new students into the school and admonished them not to get swollen headed with their matriculation but to be humble and focus on their studies in other to become responsible professional nurse or midwife.
“Your matriculation today will be meaningless unless it is linked up with total efforts which culminates into making you a responsible professional nurse or midwife. Don’t get swollen headed ,but rather be humble focused and steadfast on why you came to this school. “
Mr. Yindana also advised the students to establish networks and develop social links by respecting each other and their cultural background.
” It is not all about academic work ,but also take the opportunity to develop socially . You need to respect each other’s culture and social background as well as idiosyncrasies, even if you don’t agree with them.”
Mr. Yidana used the opportunity to apeal for support from government and benevolent organisations to construct a skills laboratory, ICT laboratory and library complex to meet the increasing number of studenst in the school.
“We call on indigens of Zuarungu, Bolgatanga and the Upper East Region as well as NGOs to come to our aid.We are currently raising funds to contruct a skills laboratory, ICT laboratory and library complex. Donations are welcome in cash, kind or labour/technical support to support our children to study well to care for us and our relatives.”
