The Paramount Chief of the Kologo Traditional Area in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality of the Upper East Region, Naba Tandegrewunkugre Clifford Abagna Asobayire V  has appealed to Government to construct a Senior High/Technical School in the area.

The entire Kologo and Naaga traditional areas have no second cycle institution to absorb pupils from the Junior High school level.

That, Naba Asobayire V said compelled second cycle day students in the areas to travel long distances to access education within and outside the Municipality.

The Chief made the appeal at the annual Yesika festival of the Chiefs and people of the area.

The festival offered indigenes the opportunity to display their rich culture and tradition, and a platform to advocate for more projects to the area.

Naba Asobayire V said “You can see a very big town like Kologo, has no Senior High/Technical School. I want to use this opportunity to appeal to Government to do its best and bring us a Senior High/Technical School.”

The Chief also appealed to Government to upgrade the Kologo Health Centre to a Polyclinic to serve the growing population of about 18,536, and fast-track the construction of the Navrongo-Kologo-Naaga road  to ease the burden of residents and travellers.

Among dignitaries who graced the festival were the Member of Parliament for the Navrongo Central Constituency, Mr Sampson Tangombu Chiragia, the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Joseph Adongo, Alhaj Otito Achuliwor, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Aspirant hopeful and Executives from various political parties.
