UE/R Incest Father Begs For Out Of Court Settlement As Victim Suffers Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The Bongo District Magistrate Court on Tuesday 19th July  2022 disclosed that it is awaiting the state Attorney’s advice on the alleged defilement case against Mr. Mohammed Abibu.

The 62-year-old man is standing trial for allegedly defiling his 12-year old daughter at Adaborobiisi, a suburb of Bongo.
 
The case has been adjourned twice pending an advice from the attorney general department.

The advice will also determine whether the case should be heard in the magistrate court or otherwise. The re-adjourned  date is scheduled for the 26th of July 2022.

The accused Mr. Mohammed Abibu pleaded for an out of court settlement as he told the court that he never defiled his own daughter.

The victim who is a basic six  student of the Salibga Primary school has been battling with serious post traumatic stress disorder which has led to lost of speech. Her present situation has cought the attention of non- government organisations in the Upper East Region including Youth Harvest Foundation and the widows and orphans movement who are thus seeking to support the well-being of the victim to ensure she recover fully.

Speaking to Fati Abigail Abdulai,  Executive Director  of Widows and Orphans Movement, she told word news that her outfit has reached out to the victim and have supported the victim with a counsellor and the reports from the counsellor indicated that the victim hasn’t been taking her drugs regularly, so the counsellor have tasked someone to ensure she takes her drugs regularly.
