The New Patriotic Party has concluded its National Delegates Conference in the Greater Accra region to elect new National Executives to man the affairs of the party for the four years.
The conference marked the end of a heated campaign that took aspirants to the length and breath of Ghana, across all 275 constituencies and 16 regions to meet delegates to solicit for their votes.
Some of the positions were vacant either because the incumbent stepped down or went in for a different position and was contested for by new faces, some of whom had contest in the last elections in 2018.
Mr. Stephen Ntim, who had contested for the Chairman’s position on four occasions, won it for the fifth time after the former Chairman, Freddie Blay, decided not to run for the position again. He beat his closest contender, Mr. Asamaoh Boateng to the position after a heated campaign.
Mr. Henry Nana Boakye, who until yesterday, was the National Youth Organiser, contested for the position of National Organiser, after the incumbent, Mr.Sammy Awuku decided not to run for the position again. He beat Mr. Titus Glover to the position with about 70% vote margin.
