The Member of Parliament for the Talensi Constituency, Hon. Benson Tongo Baba, has constructed and handed over a three unit classroom block to the Talensi District Education Directorate for use as a Kindergarten for the Kpal community.
The facility which has been furnished with the appropriate furniture to ensure activity based learning, also comes with other auxiliary facilities including an office space for the headteacher, a store room, four unit toilet facilities for male and female teachers and pupils, urinary among others.
The Hon. MP during the 2015 Talensi bye-election, constructed a primary school block for the Kpal community when it was brought to his notice that the entire Kpaal community had no school block and pupils had to commute to neighbouring communities to access education.
At a brief ceremony to commission and hand over the edifice to the chief, community members and the Ghana Education Service, Hon. B.T. Baba urged members of the community to put the school into good use so that the benefits associated with it will be fully maximized
The district director of the Ghana Education Service, mdam Christiana Azure Ayinzoya, received the facility and promised to post teachers to the school to ensure that children in the Kpal community no longer walk long distances to access education. She was happy that the facility came with the right furniture which is appropriate for the activity based curriculum.
Aside the classroom block, the MP has also begun the construction of a borehole for the school and community. Meanwhile six other school blocks are being constructed at different communities within the district.
The facility was financed from the share of the MPs common fund.
