Don’t Over Rely on Government, Protect Yourselves.: GNAT Chairman to Teachers.

The Upper East Regional chairman of the Ghana National Association of Teachers, GNAT has called on teachers not to over rely on government to provide them all the needed PPEs as they return to school. Mr. Maurice said teachers should take their personal protection seriously and take steps to obtain the PPEs as they return to school.


“ Let me call on all my colleague teachers and union members not to over rely on government to provide them with all the PPEs as school resumes. Take your protection serious. Get yourself a sanitizer and a nose masks before you get to school.”


Mr Maurice said it is not possible that government can supply all the needed PPEs on time before teachers resume to school thus his advice.
Speaking to Mr. Simon Agana Blessing on the Word Community Watch Show on Word FM, the GNAT Chairman said though some districts have received their PPEs for onward distribution to schools, he can’t say so for other districts.
He also admitted that not all schools have been fumigated though government had promised to do so before school resumes.


Incentive for Teachers.
Mr. Maurice disclosed that discussion is ongoing between government and the unions for a stimulus or incentive for Teachers as they return back to school amidst the Covid-19 spike.
