Star Brand Company Limited, a subsidiary of Green House Ghana Limited—a Chinese company based in Accra, has generously donated mattresses, fans, and a television worth over Gh35,000.00 to the Bolgatanga East District in the Upper East Region of Ghana.
This support is aimed at preparing for the upcoming Farmers’ Day celebration. The donation includes six high-density queen-size mattresses, two student mattresses, ten standing fans, ten pillows, and one 32-inch digital television.

Mr. Adombirinaba Ernest, a business partner at Star Brand Company Limited, presented the items to the Bolgatanga East District Chief Executive, Mr. Jacob Aka-eri Abugre.
He stated that the support is to honor and appreciate the efforts and significant contributions of the district’s farmers.
Mr. Aka-eri expressed deep gratitude to Star Brand Company Limited for their unwavering support, highlighting that the assembly had reached out to multiple companies and individuals for donations to organize this year’s Farmers’ Day, scheduled for December 5, 2025.

He noted that he was pleasantly surprised by the substantial nature of the products received and hoped that the company’s business would continue to flourish, enabling them to support the Farmers’ Day Award annually.
He also called on companies, organizations, stakeholders, and groups to emulate the generosity of Star Brand Company Limited. He explained that the government has yet to provide a comprehensive funding solution for the event, which has historically relied on donations from generous individuals and organizations.

The assembly faces significant challenges in organizing the celebration due to limited resources for purchasing awards for individual farmers.Mr. Aka-eri highlighted that while this year’s common fund has seen an increase, it is primarily allocated for specific policies, such as education infrastructure and health services, offering no budget for the Farmers’ Day celebration.
As a new and small assembly, the Internal Generated Funds (IGF) are also a challenge, given the limited market in the area compared to larger municipalities like Bolgatanga.
He concluded by emphasizing that with more IGF, the assembly would be better equipped to support initiatives like Farmers’ Day, as currently, most businesses in the district are small-scale operations.
