Tensions escalated in the Bolgatanga East constituency around 8 PM following an incident involving armed men at the Zuarungu Catholic Social Centre, who were reportedly planning to disrupt the voting process. However, they fled before executing their plan.

According to Adongo Bartolomeu, two suspects believed to be affiliated with the NPP were apprehended after he overheard their conversation and alerted the police. Party colors were found in their jacket pockets along with bullet casings. One suspect attempted to flee, but Bartolomeu managed to chase him down and secure an arrest.

The two suspects have since been handed over to the Bolgatanga East District Police Commander for further investigation.
