The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Talensi constituency in the Upper East Region of Ghana, Mr. Alibo Robert Ayinenaba, addressed the youth of Pwalungu during a health walk. He indicated that during the launch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign in Winkogo, a suburb of the Talensi constituency, he was openly endorsed by Johnson Aseidu Nketia as a very good candidate. Alibo emphasized that he does not need to be the NDC’s parliamentary candidate to win; he urged the people of the Talensi constituency, regardless of their political affiliations (NDC or NPP), to support him and not let his potential go to waste.

“God is so wonderful. When Johnson Aseidu Nketia came to assist Daniel Dung Mahama’s campaign launch, he started addressing the people at Winkogo by saying that Alibo is a good candidate. He wanted to highlight that if the NDC national chairman knows I’m a good candidate, would you leave me? If an opposition leader recognizes my potential, will those of us standing together let Alibo go unnoticed? You have to vote for me. Johnson Aseidu Nketia also said that if I want to be a candidate, I should join the NDC so that they would make me a candidate and I could become an MP. I believe the Talensi constituency needs an MP to represent them; they are not looking for just an NDC MP to represent them. So, since Johnson Aseidu Nketia endorsed me as a good candidate, I urge all NDC members to vote for Alibo.”

Alibo added that since the NDC national chairman, Johnson Aseidu Nketia, has endorsed him as a strong candidate, all NDC members in the Talensi constituency should vote for him to bring development to the area. He noted that four of his brothers from Winkogo have tried several times to represent the party but have not had the opportunity. He dismissed the idea that he needs to join the NDC to become a candidate, pointing out that despite Winkogo’s loyalty to the party since 1992, the NDC has failed to give them the chance to represent it.
