“As an MP representing a rural and less developed constituency, where many of my constituents struggle to support their children’s education beyond secondary school, I feel it is my duty to help as many young men and women access tertiary and vocational education. This effort will not only transform individual lives but also benefit society as a whole,” he said.

The funds will be disbursed from Dr. Apaak’s portion of the common fund, specifically to assist students with school fees. The beneficiaries, selected by his Students’ Support Selection Committee from a total of 426 applications, include 140 females* and 124 males

According to the authorization letter sent to the Builsa South District Assembly on September 15, 2024 the support will be distributed as follows: 182 university studentswill each receive GH¢1,000 while 82 nursing and teacher training students will receive GH¢600 each.

Due to limited funding, not all applicants could be accommodated this year. However, Dr. Apaak encouraged those who were unsuccessful to reapply next year, assuring them that priority will be given to those who meet the criteria but were not supported this time.

Since the inception of his student support program in 2017, Dr. Apaak has assisted a total of 995 students from Builsa South with a cumulative amount of GH¢747,000

This student support initiative is just one of many educational interventions Dr. Apaak has championed. His dedication to education aligns with his broader commitment to public service, characterized by impactful contributions in healthcare delivery, water and sanitation, youth and women empowerment, and agriculture.
