The Kumbusigo Junior High School JHS) in the Bolgatanga East District of the Upper East Region has won the inter-circuit Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) quiz competition in the District.
The competition, which started at the Circuit level, saw the Kumbosigo JHS, Dulugu and the Maurice Brown JHS emerge winners at their respective Circuits, compete for the ultimate position.
The competitors answered both practical and theoretical questions in STEM.
Kumbosigo JHS topped with 46.5 points at the end of the final round, while Dulugu and Maurice Brown JHS scored 39.0 and 32.0 points to secure second and third positions respectively.
The Bolgatanga District Director of the Ghana Education Service, Mr George Asira, said the introduction of STEM and Artificial Intelligence played critical roles in the world, and called for continuous studies among pupils.
Mr Rockson Ayine Bukari, a former Upper East Regional Minister, who Chaired the event, used the opportunity to admonish the District Assembly and the Education Directorate to work together to ensure quality education in the District devoid of partisan politics.
