The Vice President of Ghana Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is expected to visit the Weija Laprosarium today 4th July, 2023 to get all lepers in the facility registered for their NIA cards.
The excise is expected to through a special arrangement by the Vice president who is the chief Patron of the laprosaruum ,register all inmates in the facility to enable them have their Ghana cards.
Speaking on the the Tuesday edition of the Community Watch Show on Word Fm in Zuarungu, the media liaison officer of the Bawumia campaign, Mr. Akbar Khomeini, disclosed that the NIA will register the Lepers on premium service where the Vice President will pay the cost of Gh250.00 for each registrant.
“The Vice president is doing well and he will be going to meet his Lepers to get them registered for their NIA cards. You know he is the patron of the Leppars association so he is trying to get them registered for their NIA cards. It is a special arrangement and he is going to pay for the premium registration which is around Gh250.00 or so.”
Mr. Akbar added that the total number of the inmates is around 500 and each will have his or her registration paid for by Dr. Bawumia .
Dr. Bawumia yesterday 3rd July, successful attended his vetting as part of the process to qualify to contest the NPP Presidential primaries.
