The Acting Executives of the Old Students Association of Afeghera Junior High School (JHS) in Zuarungu (Now divided into Afeghera NO.1 JHS and Afeghera No.2 JHS), on Friday the 15th of October 2022, reached out to this year’s batch of BECE candidates of their Alma Mater.
The donation comprised of fifty-six (56) Mathematical sets, Sixty (60) Pens and Seventy-two (72) Pencils. This is meant to help them in the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination, (BECE) which commences on Monday,17th October 2022.
The acting President of the Old Students Association, Robert Atampugre wished the candidates well and admonished them to concentrate on their studies and do independent work when they get into the exam hall and not to rely on help from outside which could land them in trouble.
Hon.Agana Albert Akugre, the assembly man for the Zonno Electoral Area where Afeghera the No.1 JHS is situated and the interim Petron, of the group on his part advised candidates to concentrate on the exams when they get to their exam centers and come out with good results.
“This is a great school and we are here to motivate you that this school has produced a lot of human resources for this country. For the girls, don’t go and make friends and end up getting pregnant after the exam”. – Hon. Agana motivated the BECE Candidates .
The Headteacher of Afeghera No.1 JHS, Daam Tibe, expressed delight for their visit and donation. “we are so grateful to the Old Students that have come to donate Mathematical sets, pens and pencils to the final year students, this will help them so much because some of them have problems at home and their parents do not have enough to support them, may God bless you and we pray that, whereever you got this from you should be given back in hundred-fold”.
Hawa Akpanaba Aniizeme, the Class Prefect Afegra No.1 JHS three and Martha Anamapika Abugre, the Girls Prefect of Afegra No.2 JHS, together thanked the Old Students for the help and assured them that they will pass the BECE.
“We thank you for the gift you have brought to us and we assure you that we will write and pass very well- Hawa Akpanaba Aniizeme said on behalf the 2022 BECE candidates of Afeghera JHS.
The Acting Executives of the Old Students Association who were present to present the items to this year’s candidates were, Agana Albert Akugre, Acting Patron, of the 1990, year group, Robert Atampugre, Acting President, of the 1990, year group, Cristiana Alangana Azure, Acting Assistant Treasurer, member of the 1998-year group, Baba Starling, Acting Public Relations Officer (P.R.O), of the 1999, year group, Ayariga Ismann, the Acting Assistant P.R.O and member of the 1997, year group.
