UE/R: 19999 Students From 679 Schools to Sit For 2022 BECE.

Final year students from all Junior High School in Ghana will sit for the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) from Monday, 17th October, 2022 across the country for placement into the various Senior High Schools in the country.

The Upper East Region will present a total of nineteen thousand, nine hundred and ninety nine (19999) students comprising ten thousand girls(10000), and nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine (9999) boys; from six hundred and seventy nine (679) schools.

Regional Break Down

The Bolgatanga Municipality leads with two thousand eight hundred and forty seven (2847) candidates comprising of one thousand, three hundred and eighteen (1318) boys and one thousand five hundred and twenty nine(1529) girls from fifty-five(55) public schools and nineteen (19) private schools. The Kasena Nankana Municipality follows with one thousand, nine hundred and forty six (1946) students comprising of nine hundred and fifty-two(952) boys and nine hundred and ninety-four(994) girls from forty-eight (48) public schools and twelve(12 ) private schools.

The Bolga East District will present the least candidates for the 2022 exam with six hundred and twenty (620)students, comprising of two hundred and seventy five(275) boys and three hundred and forty-five(345) girls from fifteen (15) public schools and four (4 )private schools. The Nabdam District follows Bolgatanga East with six hundred and forty-two (642) students comprising of two hundred and seventy nine (279) boys and three hundred and sixty three (363) girls from nineteen (19) public schools.

The Bawku Municipality which has been under curfew as a result of chieftancy conflict will present one thousand eight hundred and fifteen (1815) students comprising seven hundredand ninety four (794) boys and one thousand and twenty one (1021) students from fifty (50) public schools and twenty (20) private schools for the exams.

The 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination will take place across the region from selected Senior High Schools in the various districts and municipalities from Monday 17th to Friday 21st October, 2022.
