KOLOGO Naba Adjudged Paramount Chief Of The Year


 
Naba Tandegrewangrekugre Asobayire V, the Paramount Chief of the Kologo Traditional Area in the Kassena-Nankana Municipality of the Upper East Region is adjudged the Paramount Chief of the year 2022.

Apart from the Paramount Chief of the Year Award, Naba Tandegrewangrekugre V also received a Peace and Mediation award for his contribution towards peace in the country.

Another Paramount Chief in the Upper East Region, Naba Alebzire Olando Ayamaga Awini III, Chief of the Naaga Traditional Area, was also  awarded for his contribution to Science and Technology in Ghana.

The awards ceremony  was organised by the National Planning Committee of the Ghana Chieftaincy Awards, with funding support by the Obokese Foundation and Partners, held at the University of Cape Coast.

Apart from the two awardees, several Paramount Chiefs and Queen Mothers across the country received awards for their roles and contributions towards peace building in their respective jurisdictions and Ghana as a whole.

In his address after receiving the award, Naba Tandegrewangrekugre V thanked the event organizers for  recognising the efforts of the Asobayire family, the Kologo Traditional Area and the entire Upper East Regional House of Chiefs in nation building.

He used the occasion to appeal to residents in Bawku, Doba and Kandiga to embrace peace, saying the conflicts among residents in the affected towns affected development in the Upper East Region.
