131 Out of the 325 NABCO Beneficiaries Gained Permanent Employment in Bongo- Hon. Peter Ayimbisa.

Many social media and political watchers have attributed many reasons to the anger that was directed at the President of Ghana at the Global Citizens Festival where patrons who were mainly the youth, “booed” at President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo when he appeared on the podium to address patrons at the Black Star Squire last Saturday.

Some patrons and sections of the public has ascribed the rising cost of living, economic hardship and the rising youth unemployment and the opulence of the president as some of the reasons that have court dissatisfaction of the youth which result, is the hooting of the president at the event that was largely attended by the youth.

But reacting to the “public disgrace” that was meted out to the president of Ghana on the Word Community Watch Show on Word FM, on Wednesday 28th September, 2022, the Upper East Regional Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party, Hon. Peter Ayimbisa discounted the public assertion that the government is not doing enough to alleviate the suffering of the youth.

Hon. Ayimbisa said though times were tough globally, government is putting in place measures and programs to ease the suffering of the people. He said government has since its inception in 2017, employed hundreds of youth jobs.

” It is not to say that every youth in this country have not gotten jobs, that is far from the truth. There are hundreds of youth who have gotten jobs and they are doing. Go to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and ask how many young people have joined the public service, go to the Ministry of Agric and ask how many people have not gotten jobs as agric extension officers. The various security services have been recruiting.”

Responding to a question by host of the Community Watch Show, Mr. Simon Agana on the failure of Government to permanently employ NABCO Beneficiaries, Hon. Ayimbisa disclosed that over hundred of NABCO trainees in the Bongo Constituency have gained permanent employment.

” If you go to Bongo, about 325 NABCO Beneficiaries were recruited. Throughout the three years period about 131 have been engaged permanently at various sectors of the economy. Some are with Ministry of Health,Ministry of Agriculture, Audit Service and all the security services.”

The former District Chief Executive of the Bongo District Assembly, added that on a national scale, over 50% of NABCO trainees have gained permanent employment at thier places of training.
