A seventy year old man is in the grips of the Zuarungu police for allegedly defiling an eight year old girl in Kumbosgo, a suburb of Zuarungu in the Bolga East District of the Upper East Region.
Information from close neighbours of the victim said the family of the victim observed changes in the walking of the girl on 21st July, 2022.
When she was enquired about the change in her walking, she disclosed that the old man whose name has been given as Mr. Bukari Baba, but popularly called Charles, inserted his penis into her vagina.
The girl was taken to the Upper East Regional hospital yesterday, 21 July, 2022, for the necessary test and treatment while a complaint was lodged at the Zuarungu Police Station.
Meanwhile, as the time of filling this report, officers from the Zuarungu police station had effected the arrest of the man and placed him behind cells for further investigation.
Information available to this reporter indicates that the man stays in the same vicinity with the girl. He called the girl to her room to carry out the barbaric crime when she observed that everyone in the house was out except the two of them.
