Bawku: outrage as police indiscriminate shooting led to hospitization of four

Residents of Missiga are angry over what they say is an indiscriminate shooting of arms that occurred last night.

They alleged that the shooting is said to have resulted in the fainting of four aged persons.

Assembly member for the Missiga electoral area, Musah Paul told www.mywordfmonline.com that the shooting was needless and unprovoked.
According to him, the police who were escorting traders from Togo and Burkina Faso started shooting indiscriminately from the Missiga stretch to Sabongari.

He wondered why the police in Bawku still escorts people to Burkina Faso and Togo where there is unrest. He added that those countries in recent times are battling terrorists’ attack and that it is unwise for the police to be escorting people from Bawku to those countries at the moment.
The residents stated that several complaints have fallen on death ears.
Efforts to contact the Bawku divisional police commander prove futile as calls placed to his MTN number went unanswered.
